Commencement ceremonies for the Bear River High School Class of 2024 will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29 at Bear Field (BRHS football field).
A senior motorcade will begin at 1 p.m. earlier that day. Seniors will gather at the fairgrounds parking area at 350 N. 1000 West and proceed in a clockwise direction north on 1000 West, east on 1000 North (1400 South in Garland), south on 300 East past the high school, and west on Main Street in Tremonton.
Friends, family and community members are invited to line up along the motorcade route to congratulate the graduates.
Veterans center luncheon, services
The Rocky Mountain Veterans Center is launching a monthly veterans luncheon as a special gathering for all military veterans and their families.
This luncheon is both a testament to veterans’ service and a platform to provide updates on the various benefits and opportunities available through federal, state, and community organizations.
The first luncheon, scheduled for 11 a.m.-1p.m. June 12, will feature guest speaker Wendy Griffin, a highly experienced service officer with the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Her topic will be “Navigating the Federal Benefit Process: What Veterans Need to Know.”
The luncheons are free for veterans, service members, and family members. Those interested in attending can call (435) 535-3150, email veterans@dgvrc.org, or stop by the RMVC (1760 N. 200 E., Suite 100, North Logan) to pre-register.
Trash car racing season returns
Trash car racing returns for another season starting Saturday, June 1 at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds.
The main events begin at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.strideevents.com/events/trash-car-racing/2024/tickets. Tickets are $16 ages 12 and up, $11 ages 3-11, and free for ages 0-2.
This year’s circuit will also hold events at the Cache County Fairgrounds in Logan on June 8, July 20, Aug. 17 and Sept. 14; at the Bannock County Fairgrounds in Downey Idaho on Aug. 10; and will conclude with another Tremonton event on Sept. 28.
Boys & Girls Club dinner, auction
The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Utah will hold its 17th annual dinner and auction Friday, June 21 at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds events center, 320 N. 1000 West, Tremonton.
Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and live entertainment at 7:30 p.m., with a live auction to follow. A silent auction will be held throughout the event. This year’s theme is “American Graffiti: A Night of 1950s Fun.”
