Cache County will host a free Nonprofit Funding Solutions Summit on Wednesday to help local organizations address funding challenges and strengthen their community impact.
The summit runs from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Cache County Event Center and targets nonprofit leaders, board members, funders and community advocates.
Cache Valley Bank is sponsoring the summit, which aims to provide resources for fundraising, grant writing, donor engagement and sustainable impact strategies.
"We have so many great nonprofits in Cache County and they're doing incredible work," said Cache County Executive David Zook, who is organizing the event. "But many of them are struggling with funding challenges that affect their ability to serve residents in need."
The event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Matt White, Utah State University vice president for advancement and president of the USU Foundation. White will present "Elevating Your Organization's Fundraising: Strategic Pathways to Long-Term Success," focusing on building sustainable revenue through strategic planning and community alignment.
Clay Olsen, co-founder and president of Fight the New Drug and PHASE Alliance, will open the summit with remarks on current threats facing nonprofits and strategies for navigating today's challenges.
Additional sessions include grant writing instruction from Nelda Ault-Dyslin, assistant director of community-engaged learning at the Utah State University Center for Community Engagement.
A funders roundtable will provide nonprofits with insight into donor decision-making. The panel features Alta Bank Vice President Katie Hansen, local philanthropist Gary Andersen and Intermountain Health Community Health Director Anne Cazier. Cache Valley Center for the Arts Executive Director Wendi Hassan will moderate.
A nonprofit panel will showcase success strategies from four local organization leaders: Ted Chalfant from Little Lambs Foundation, Jill Andersen from CAPSA, Dan Johnson from CRIC and Sheryl Goodey from The Family Place. United Way Donor Engagement Director Jimmy Birman will moderate.
