Logan City Police arrested Ukrainian Nationals Damir Ovsiannikov, 18, and Liubomyr Prokopchuk, 27, Wednesday for allegedly scamming a Logan resident out of about $300,000.

According to a press release, the 78-year-old man contacted police believing he was being scammed by someone claiming to be a federal agent. The individual reportedly told the Logan man that to “clear a case” and to protect his money, he needed to provide funds in the form of gold coins to a currier.
