For years, Idahoans yelled loud and clear: the Lava Ridge Wind Project is not welcome in our state. Affected local residents, farmers, tribes, conservationists, and the Japanese-American community all stood united in opposition to this plan. However, despite numerous legitimate concerns and near-unanimous opposition to the project, the Biden administration’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) refused to listen.
Like many Americans, I am optimistic about the direction our country is headed. With President Trump back in the Oval Office and Republicans leading both the House and Senate, we have remained unified and committed to working toward the same policy goals. The Left, on the other hand, is in disarray. Their only agenda is resistance—opposing President Trump at every turn, regardless of the consequences for everyday Americans. Perhaps that explains why their approval rating is at an all-time low.

The Biden administration’s open-border policies have fueled crime, undermined public safety, and overwhelmed our federal, state, and local law enforcement officers. Looking at Fiscal Year 2023 alone, more than 2.3 million migrants illegally entered our country, and illicit fentanyl smuggled into the United States through the southern border killed more than 112,000 Americans. These record-shattering numbers are the tragic reality of President Biden’s border crisis.
The beginning of a new year provides an opportunity to reflect on the previous year, build on accomplishments, and set goals for what’s to come. In Congress — and for myself — the same mentality applies.
