A box truck and semi were involved in a crash that shut down lanes for a period of time Tuesday on Interstate 15 in Box Elder County.

The crash, which was reported at 11:23 a.m., occurred southbound at milepost 365, according to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden.

Lanes were reduced to one lane due to construction and the driver of the box truck rear-ended the semi, Roden said, which caused debris — seed or grain, according to the police report — from the semi to be spilled onto the highway. The lane was blocked until the scene could be cleared.

The Utah Department of Transportation responded with equipment to clear the lane and was able to get it reopened “fairly quickly,” Roden said.

He said no other vehicles were involved in the crash and no injuries reported.
