The Lady Indians won one of four games last week at home. They traveled to Idaho Falls for a doubleheader with Skyline on Apr. 15 (score unavailable at press time) and host a doubleheader with Burley on Wednesday, Apr. 16 starting at 3:30 p.m. Preston travels to Snake River for a conference game on Friday, Apr. 18 at 4 p.m.
Preston lost both games of a doubleheader against Sugar-Salem on Apr. 12. The Indians struggled to get their bats going in the opener and lost 4-19 in five innings.
The nightcap went better with Preston hanging with the Diggers but trailing 4-5 until the sixth inning when Sugar-Salem plated six runs. The Indians had a chance to answer but a homerun by Brielle Biggs happened with no one on base and as the only Preston run it was not enough to stop the mercy rule from going into effect and Preston losing 5-11.
Biggs went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Averie Madsen scored a run and stole two bases. Paisely Campbell and Chloe Dunn also scored. Dunn, Biggs and Mays Jones recorded an RBI each.
Preston hit well against American Falls scoring one in the second inning, seven in the third and finished with two in the sixth for a 10-0 win in six innings.
The Indians had nine hits and took advantage of nine errors by American Falls. Ellie Keller was a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate with an RBI and scored two runs. She had a triple and two doubles.
Keller also went the distance in the circle, striking out 12 and allowing just two hits.
The Indians came up short against Bear Lake for a 6-11 conference loss.
Preston trailed 2-5 at the top of the fourth inning. Though they kept the game within reach, the Indians could not close that gap.
Biggs made went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.
Tylee Archibald, Dunn, Jones, Keller and Madsen all scored. Madsen and Keller both doubled.
Archibald and Keller combined to strike out six. Keller took over for Archibald in the third inning.
